The Arken Optics EP-5 GENII 5-25×56 FFP is a purpose-built precision riflescope designed for shooters who demand reliable tracking, excellent optical performance and advanced reticle functionality for long-range shooting, competition and precision hunting.
Building on the proven EP-5 platform, the GENII introduces upgraded Japanese XED glass, improved optical architecture, a larger and more forgiving eyebox, refined turret mechanics and a choice of VPR or TOR first focal plane reticles.
With a versatile 5-25× magnification range, large 56mm objective lens, robust 34mm main tube, illuminated FFP reticle and Arken's mechanical Zero Stop system, the EP-5 GENII provides the features serious precision shooters need for confident engagements from intermediate to extended distances.
Premium Japanese XED Glass At the heart of the EP-5 GENII is Arken's Japanese Extremely Extra-Low Dispersion (J-XED) glass. The upgraded optical system is engineered to provide excellent edge-to-edge clarity, contrast and fine target detail while reducing chromatic aberration.
This becomes particularly valuable at higher magnification and longer distances, where clearly identifying small targets, bullet impacts and subtle target details can make a significant difference.
Combined with the large 56mm objective, the EP-5 GENII delivers a bright, detailed sight picture across its 5-25× magnification range.
First Focal Plane Reticle The EP-5 GENII uses a First Focal Plane (FFP) reticle. Because the reticle changes apparent size together with the target image as magnification is adjusted, the reticle's subtensions remain accurate throughout the magnification range.
This allows shooters to confidently use the reticle for: Elevation holds Wind holds Target corrections Impact corrections Ranging Rapid follow-up shots without being restricted to one specific magnification setting.
Choice of VPR or TOR Reticle The EP-5 GENII is available with VPR and TOR reticle configurations, allowing shooters to select the reticle that best suits their application.
VPR – Versatile Precision Reticle The VPR is Arken's more traditional precision reticle and provides a clean but capable holdover grid. It is designed for shooters who want accurate elevation and wind references without an excessively busy sight picture.
The VPR incorporates a 12 MIL holdover grid with fine reference points for accurate corrections and is well suited to general long-range shooting, range work, hunting and precision rifle applications.
TOR – Competition-Oriented Reticle The TOR is the more advanced competition-oriented option. It features a dense 16 MIL holdover grid with fine 0.2 MIL subtensions, allowing precise elevation and wind corrections directly through the reticle.
A very fine floating centre aiming point provides excellent target definition while minimising target obstruction.
The TOR is particularly well suited to PRS, NRL, rimfire precision and other competition disciplines where shooters frequently need to make fast corrections or engage multiple targets without dialing every elevation change.
Illuminated Reticle The EP-5 GENII features red reticle illumination, improving reticle visibility against dark targets, vegetation and difficult backgrounds.
Illumination can be especially useful during changing light conditions or when the fine centre aiming point becomes difficult to distinguish against the target. 5-25× Magnification The versatile 5-25× magnification range gives the EP-5 GENII excellent flexibility.
At lower magnification, the wider field of view assists with target acquisition and positional shooting. Increase magnification when greater target detail is required for precision shooting at extended distances.
This makes the EP-5 GENII suitable for everything from range shooting and PRS-style stages to serious long-range and precision rifle applications. Improved Eyebox & Eye Relief The GENII features a larger ocular design that provides a significantly more forgiving eyebox than the previous-generation EP-5.
With approximately 3.5 inches of eye relief, shooters can achieve a comfortable and consistent sight picture from prone, bench and positional shooting positions.
A forgiving eyebox is particularly valuable in competition shooting where the shooter may need to acquire a usable sight picture quickly from barricades or unconventional positions.
Precision Turret System The EP-5 GENII uses precision-machined turrets designed to provide positive, tactile and repeatable adjustments. Depending on the selected model, adjustments are available in: MIL: 0.1 MIL per click MOA: 0.25 MOA per click Each full turret revolution provides: 10 MIL or 25 MOA This provides intuitive adjustment values for shooters who regularly dial elevation for targets at different distances.
Arken Zero Stop – AZS Arken's Zero Stop system (AZS) provides a positive mechanical reference for returning the elevation turret to the rifle's established zero.
After engaging targets at distance and dialing multiple revolutions of elevation, the shooter can quickly return the turret to the preset zero position without having to visually count rotations.
This is an especially useful feature for long-range shooting and competition where elevation adjustments are made frequently. Generous Adjustment Range The EP-5 GENII 5-25×56 provides substantial internal adjustment for long-range applications.
Elevation Adjustment: 28 MIL / 100 MOA Windage Adjustment: 12 MIL / 48 MOA Combined with an appropriate canted scope base or mount, this provides excellent capability for extended-range shooting. Side Parallax – 20 Yards to Infinity Parallax adjustment runs from approximately 20 yards to infinity.
The close minimum parallax distance also makes the EP-5 GENII particularly attractive for precision rimfire disciplines such as NRL22-style shooting, while retaining the adjustment range required for centre-fire long-range applications.
Built for Hard Use The EP-5 GENII isn't designed only for the shooting bench. Its robust aircraft-grade aluminium construction provides the rigidity and durability required for demanding field and competition environments.
The optic is IP67 waterproof and dustproof and nitrogen purged to help prevent internal fogging during temperature and humidity changes. Arken also rates the EP-5 GENII for .50 BMG recoil, with the optic tested to withstand heavy impact and recoil forces.
